Your “Home Away from Home” in Burgundy!
Our modern ground-floor apartment is located in the heart Pommard, one of the most famous and beautiful wine villages in Burgundy. Situated in what was once a 17th century carriage inn, this beautifully-renovated property is adjacent to the famous Chateau de Pommard.
A stay in this “home away from home,” with the boulangerie (bakery), wine bar, restaurants, and chocolate shop literally steps from the front door, offers a true taste of Burgundian village life. Just a 3-hour drive from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (two hours by train), this location is a perfect vacation destination for lovers of wine and the beautiful countryside in which it is produced. And because of proximity to the train station in Beaune (2 miles) and the autoroute (2 miles), Pommard provides an ideal base from which to explore other parts of France and Europe.
Here are some of the special features guests will enjoy:
Living Room:
The comfortable great room includes a flat screen TV (French & English channels), stereo, DVD & CD players. After a day of wine tasting or sightseeing you can relax with an assortment of movies, both current and classic. Our dining table comfortably seats six.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully-appointed with oven, range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a breakfast bar perfectly suited to enjoying your morning coffee and croissants. We are proudly equipped with cooking equipment fit for a chef.
Bedrooms:
Both bedrooms feature original 17th century beamed ceilings, comfortable queen-sized beds, and ample storage for clothing. Custom-designed, sound-proofed windows ensure your tranquility and a good night’s sleep.
Bathrooms:
The modern, spacious main bathroom includes a shower/tub combination, sink with vanity, and toilet. Storage baskets and a hairdryer are provided. An additional half bath, with 2nd toilet and small sink, provides a little extra comfort and privacy.
Entrances and Parking:
The main entrance to “Le Clos de Pommard” is just steps from the private gated parking area, with reserved space for one car. Guests may park additional cars close by in the town square. Plus, your front “door to the village” is steps away from the bakery, wine bar, café, and restaurants!
Outdoor Space:
Our small internal courtyard, located just off the main room, is equipped with an outdoor table and four chairs, providing a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine during pleasant weather. For those who would enjoy a stroll in a more formal setting, the Chateau de Pommard gardens are located just on the other side of Rue des Jardins.
Accessibility:
While not formally designated as “handicapped accessible,” this apartment is all on the ground floor when using the front street entrance. The open floor plan provides ease of access for those who may require the assistance of a walker or other mobility devices.
Our Pommard-Based Manager:
We are so fortunate to have a “house manager” to take care of our property who lives right in our village. Nathalie ensures that cleaning and preparation for each guest’s arrival is performed to the highest standards, and also prepares a thoughtful “welcome basket” for our guests to enjoy upon their arrival.
Rates:
Our 2023 rates range from $1,000 per week in the low season to $1,400 per week in the high season and over the weekend of the wine auction in Beaune, the 3rd week in November. Stays shorter than a week are possible, with a minimum stay of three nights. Discounts are available for stays of two weeks or longer, and also for those guests who are clients of “Your Key to Burgundy.” Contact us for availability and details. We hope to welcome you soon!
