- Passport (with expiration date at least six months out from date of return)
- US Driver’s License
- International Driver’s License
Transportation:
- Airline tickets
- Train tickets
- Car rental
- Other ground transportation arranged in advance (i.e. airport to hotel shuttles)
- Maps
Accommodations:
- Upon arrival in France
- In Burgundy
- Additional destinations (if applicable)
- For the night before return to US
Money:
- Euros acquired in advance
- Ability to obtain Euros in France (i.e. Bank card confirmed to work in ATMs in Europe)
- Credit card(s) (Mastercard & Visa most widely accepted in Europe)
- Alert banks/credit card companies of travel plans
Health/Wellness:
- Prescription medications
- Copies of prescriptions (including eyeglasses)
- “Must have” OTC medications
- Immunizations as recommended by personal physician
- French language translations for dietary needs and allergies
Travel Information:
- Full Itinerary (with a copy to leave at home with a family member or friend)
- Copies of passport and driver’s license to carry separately (with a copy to also leave at home)
- Confirmations of airline tickets, accommodations, car rental, etc.
- Important contact information (for both home and abroad)
- Directions to travel destinations, hotels, etc.
Miscellaneous:
- Pet/house care arrangements
- Disposition of mail and newspapers
- Trip insurance
- French phrase book/dictionary
- Guide books
- Smart phone apps
- Check with mobile phone carrier for European service availability and costs
- Converter plugs for France (at least two)
- Chargers for electronic devices
